North Korea disguises self-propelled artillery as farm vehicles

Modern warfare is not what it used to be.

The military parade accompanying the 75th anniversary celebrations in North Korea included several vehicles that looked like commercial container carriers or ordinary farm vehicles. They were not what they seemed to be. They were self-propelled artillery pieces disguised to look like civilian vehicles.

President Kim Jong Un was chief guest, as is customary in any event that he attends.

The top brass of the military was out in force.

Ironically for a Communist utopia, the scramble for medals left a lot of have-nots.

While North Korea wanted to show that they had successfully weathered sanctions placed by the US, they let slip that they still cannot afford razor blades.

A quarter of the population assembled in the square to see the parade. The rest of population turned away from South Korean TV dramas for an entire hour just to see if they could spot their friends and relatives when the camera panned over the crowd.

Veterans from World War II also participated.

There were enough phallus-shaped missiles to trigger American feminists into committing suicide.

In the paramilitary parade, what looked like a civilian vehicle carrying fertilizer bags was just a cleverly disguised rocket barrel launcher truck.

They also had tractors towing wagons containing rocket barrels.
