How to download insurance certificate for PMSBY and PMJJBY
Unashamedly publicity-hungry Modi government takes insurance premium without issuing a certificate and family members of deceased policyholders never get the payout.
For decades, the central government had to accede to yearly demands to provide flood/cyclone/drought relief for affected farmers. Modi govt has lot of money for the likes of Ambani and Adani but nothing for farmers. Rather than provide relief, he asked farmers to take insurance policies. Government-owned insurance companies were the only ones providing crop insurance because Ministry of Finance forced them too. As farmers' protests and opposition criticism started to bite, Modi's hand was forced and he introduced the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). Globalist stooges never let a crisis go to waste. So, Modi govt roped in private insurance companies who raised premium rates several times over while payouts remained flat.
What can you expect from a guy who forced Indian Railways to cancel senior citizen ticket concession while he asked the aviation ministry to provide ticket subsidy for all kinds of passengers in private airlines!
This is how cruel Modi is. He names these jumla schemes after his post so that advertisements will have to inevitably carry his photo.
One another crooked aspect of these Modi schemes is the fact the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) never issue any paperwork. The money goes out of your account but no policy certificates or terms and conditions are mailed to your address.
Policyholders think they have insurance cover but when they die their family members do not even know of its existence. The insurance company pockets the premium already paid and never pays out the sum assured. It also deducts fresh premiums using auto-debits if the bank account is active even after the death of the policy holder.
Another crooked aspect of these Modi schemes is the short cutoff date for claims. Typically, it is one month. It takes several months if not years to obtain all the papers but the Modi govt expects everything in no time. Most claims are rejected.
So, from where do you get the policy certificate? From the banking website. In their labrynthine menus, you might find a link to the insurance company. There, you may have to enter your account number and date of birth. Then, they will mail you the PDF. Print it and file in a folder and label it as 'INSURANCE' in big letters. Place it in your hall or next to the clock so that your family members can easily find it in case the inevitable happens.
Strangely, the link for paying premimum for the accident insurance policy PMSBY (₹20) has disappeared from my bank's netbanking site. The link for paying premium for the more expensive life insurance policy PMJJBY remains.
